UASLP Film Festival expands to four regions in San Luis Potosí

The 9th UASLP Film Festival, organized by the Universidad Autónoma de San Luis Potosí, will take place from October 5 to 9. For the first time, the event will expand its programming across four regions of the state, including San Luis Potosí, Matehuala, Rioverde, and Ciudad Valles.

Supported by the Program for Support of Cultural and Artistic Festivals (PROFEST), the festival will host filmmakers, actors, producers, and specialists. The schedule features film screenings, workshops, masterclasses, and the 6th Showcase of Potosino Short Films.

Actor and director Daniel Giménez Cacho will receive the Peyote Award during the opening ceremony on October 5 at the Centro Cultural Universitario Bicentenario. Giménez Cacho is also scheduled to lead a free masterclass on October 6. The festival's educational program includes training in various disciplines such as acting, cinematography, screenwriting, documentary filmmaking, and special effects.
