UAT professor earns NASA accreditation for aerospace training

Orlando José Martínez Arvizu, a researcher and professor at the Universidad Autónoma de Tamaulipas (UAT), has earned international accreditation to participate in a NASA aerospace training program. Following his success at the First State STEM Teacher Forum, he is scheduled to attend training at the Space Center Houston in February 2027.

Martínez Arvizu was selected from over one hundred educators for his pedagogical model titled “De la cercanía a la autonomía: metodología Conecto, Hago, Hacemos y Hacen” (From closeness to autonomy: Conecto, Hago, Hacemos, and Hacen methodology). This STEM-focused approach promotes the gradual transfer of learning responsibility from the teacher to the student through four distinct stages: building trust and context (Conecto), teacher modeling (Hago), guided practice (Hacemos), and autonomous application (Hacen).

The forum was organized by the Government of Tamaulipas through the Consejo Tamaulipeco de Ciencia y Tecnología (COTACYT), in collaboration with Misión Educativa MX and Space Center Houston.
