Universidad Autónoma de Tamaulipas showcases art and culture
The Universidad Autónoma de Tamaulipas (UAT) has highlighted its cultural and academic presence through two major initiatives. At the Feria Tamaulipas 2026, the university showcased artistic talent from its workshops, including music, dance, and theater, while also presenting academic and medical advancements from its faculties in Tampico.
Additionally, the university unveiled a monumental 4.5-meter steel sculpture titled ‘La huella de COVECO’ at the Faculty of Commerce, Administration, and Social Sciences in Nuevo Laredo. Created by artist Álvaro Cuevas, the piece is inspired by origami and integrates three local animals: the coyote (representing strategy), the deer (representing sensitivity), and the roadrunner (representing agility). The sculpture is designed with institutional colors and can serve as an interactive canvas for future artistic interventions by the university community.
