Ubatuba and Guarulhos gymnasts top state contests, winning dozens of medals

The artistic gymnastics team from Ubatuba distinguished itself at the Detona tournament in Guarulhos, São Paulo, earning a total of 20 medals and the team trophy. Athletes collected nine bronze, five silver and six gold medals across the Infantil Nível 2 and Juvenil Nível 3 categories, with standout performances such as Mahara Von Tein (bronze on Parallel Bars), Luna Caçapava (bronze on Balance Beam) and Mariana Nassa (gold on Balance Beam). The squad also secured third place overall in the Level 3 group competition.

At the Jogos Abertos da Juventude in Barretos, the Guarulhos gymnastics squad claimed the championship, gathering ten medals. Manuela Kriegel led the effort with three podium finishes – gold on Beam, gold in the Individual Overall and bronze on Vault. Other Guarulhos gymnasts also medaled, contributing to the team’s top‑rank finish and highlighting the city’s strong base program in the sport.
