Ubatuba Civil Defense visits Coco & Cia Cooperative

The Ubatuba Civil Defense visited the headquarters of the Coco & Cia Cooperative to present information regarding the Local Community Risk Reduction Plan (PLRR). The initiative aims to integrate Civil Defense agents with the company’s fire brigades to strengthen prevention, guidance, and emergency response actions.

The meeting addressed procedures for managing climate events that could impact the region. This follows previous incidents involving the rising levels of the Rio Grande, which has previously caused employees at the cooperative to be isolated for up to three days during flooding.

Moving forward, the Civil Defense plans to schedule educational and preventive meetings with all cooperative employees to ensure they are prepared for high-rainfall periods and understand their responsibilities during emergencies.
