Ubatuba extends winter coat drive to end of August
The Ubatuba Municipal Social Solidarity Fund (FSS) has announced that the city's winter coat donation campaign will run through the last business day of August. The 2026 campaign, themed “Doe amor para quem precisa de calor,” seeks winter clothing, blankets, sheets and other warm items in good condition to aid residents facing vulnerability.
The campaign coincides with forecasts of colder temperatures, rain and wind, prompting officials to urge the community to donate clean, usable pieces. Fund president Tatiana Mansur emphasized the need for hygienic items, stating that recipients deserve “care and respect.” Donation points include the Casa da Juventude, local health center, supermarkets Shibata and Maná, the municipal market, and the Assembleia de Deus church.
The initiative aims to address the expected dip in temperatures, which historically fall to around 15 °C in the region, and to support families unable to protect themselves from the impending cold front.
