Ubatuba finishes second in Copa Litoral Norte U15 women's volleyball tournament

The U15 women's volleyball stage of the Copa Litoral Norte was held on 20 October at the Ginásio Tubão in Ubatuba, Brazil. Four municipal teams – Ubatuba, Caraguatatuba, Ilhabela and São Sebastião – competed. Ubatuba secured second place, earning the “Ouro” classification after a 2‑0 win over Caraguatatuba, a 2‑0 win over Ilhabela and a narrow 2‑1 loss to eventual champions São Sebastião, who took the “Diamante”. Ilhabela placed third (Prata) and Caraguatatuba fourth (Bronze).

Coach Samuel Pedroso praised the squad, saying, “The girls had a very positive stage… we saw clear evolution in behavior, court posture and confidence.” Sports and Leisure Secretary Saulo Souza highlighted the event’s role in developing youth sport and fostering regional integration, noting that hosting the stage strengthens base‑level competition and supports municipal commitment to athlete development.

The tournament will continue in Caraguatatuba (Sub‑13 on 3 Oct and Sub‑15 on 17 Oct) before concluding in São Sebastião with the Sub‑13 and Sub‑15 finals on 21‑22 Nov. The Ubatuba Sub‑13 team previously earned a bronze finish at the earlier regional stage.
