Ubatuba Fish Market celebrates 35 years of operation

The Municipal Fish Market of Ubatuba, located on Ilha dos Pescadores, is celebrating its 35th anniversary. Since its inauguration in 1991, the market has served as a central hub for the commercialization of seafood, income generation, and the preservation of local 'caiçara' culture.

The facility currently consists of 41 stalls dedicated to artisanal fishermen and seven commercial points offering various species of fish, shrimp, and other seafood. The anniversary coincides with a development project led by the Secretariat of Agriculture and Fisheries, which aims to renovate and expand the market to improve structural conditions and operational efficiency for fishermen, merchants, and consumers.
