Ubatuba health officials train nurses for contraceptive implants

The Ubatuba Health Department is conducting the third and final phase of qualification training for municipal nursing professionals. The training focuses on the implantation of etonogestrel subdermal contraceptives.

Scheduled for Tuesday, October 27, at the Cícero Gomes Basic Health Unit (UBS) in Silop, the workshop will include 15 professionals from various sectors, including the city's central-west region and the Santa Casa de Misericórdia Maternity Hospital. This initiative is part of the broader ‘Pink October’ campaign, which promotes women's health and breast cancer awareness.

To date, a total of 45 nurses across the municipal health network have been qualified to perform the procedure. Health Secretary Ailton Felix stated that the training expands operational capacity, allowing professionals to serve residents more efficiently and with greater sensitivity.
