Ubatuba holds graduation for temporary lifeguard assistants
A graduation ceremony was held for 52 temporary lifeguard assistants in Ubatuba, Brazil. Of the graduates, 40 will be hired to work on local beaches for an initial period of 150 days, with the possibility of a renewal for an equal term.
The training program, conducted by the Maritime Firefighter Group (GBMar), lasted three weeks and included technical instruction in drowning prevention, aquatic rescue techniques, victim assistance, and GBMar procedures. The initiative aims to increase safety on beaches that do not have a constant presence of permanent firefighters.
Top performers in the course included Nicolas Diogo dos Santos, Pedro Azevedo Quinto, and Ana Maria Schiewaldt Escobar, who received special recognition for their high marks.
