Ubatuba Launches First North Coast Audiovisual Contest for Residents

The municipality of Ubatuba, together with the Circuito Litoral Norte consortium (Ubatuba, Bertioga, Caraguatatuba, Ilhabela and São Sebastião), has opened registrations for the inaugural 1st Audiovisual Cultural Contest. The competition, themed “Litoral Norte de São Paulo, venha viver esse paraíso,” invites video producers, cinematographers and content creators aged 18 or older to submit up to five videos that showcase the region’s tourism attractions such as nautical activities, bird and cetacean watching, waterfalls, cycling routes, gastronomy, sports and wellness.

Registrations are accepted online until 13 September. A three‑stage selection will first shortlist the 50 best entries, after which a judging panel comprising representatives of ABETA, ABIH‑SP, APRECESP and SP Turismo will choose ten finalists. The finalists will be subject to a public vote on the consortium’s social‑media channels from 27 September to 11 October. Winners will be announced on 19 October, coinciding with World Audiovisual Heritage Day, and will receive tourism experiences offered by the consortium. “We encourage this initiative because it helps promote the experiences residents and tourists can enjoy throughout our coast,” said Anderson Paiva, Ubatuba’s Secretary of Tourism.
