Ubatuba Literary Contest 2026 registration closes this Wednesday

The registration period for the 2026 Literary Contest in Ubatuba concludes this Wednesday, November 7. Organized by the Fundação de Arte e Cultura de Ubatuba (Fundart) in partnership with the Ubatuba Secretariat of Education, the competition has already received over 160 entries.

Open to residents of Ubatuba, the North Coast, and the Vale do Paraíba, the contest includes several categories: the 39th and 38th Idalina Graça Poetry Contests, the 33rd Washington de Oliveira Short Story Contest, the 25th Tia Helô Theater Text Contest, and the 12th Prof. José Ronaldo dos Santos Chronicles Contest. Participants may submit up to three original, unpublished works using pseudonyms.

A judging committee will evaluate entries based on creativity, quality, language, and genre adherence. The top three works in each category will be included in the 2026 Literary Anthology. Winners will receive cash prizes ranging from R$300 to R$750, along with copies of the anthology. The awards ceremony is scheduled for November 27 at the Ateneu Ubatubense Municipal Library.
