Ubatuba municipal guard logs 127 incidents in July and pension office warns of phone scams

The Guarda Civil Municipal of Ubatuba reported handling 127 incidents in July, including 27 noise complaints, 21 event‑support actions and 20 traffic‑related cases. The force also assisted SAMU, social services, schools and other municipal agencies, emphasizing its role in public order and community support, said commander Rogério Ramos dos Santos.

The Instituto de Previdência Municipal de Ubatuba (IPMU) issued an alert for retirees and pensioners about increasing phone and WhatsApp fraud. Scammers pose as bank representatives or IPMU staff to obtain personal data, passwords or to solicit transfers. IPMU president Sirleide Silva urged citizens not to share documents or click links and to verify any contact through official channels.
