Brazilian towns complete road paving in Brusque and infrastructure upgrades in Ubatuba

The municipality of Brusque finished resurfacing Avenida Primeiro de Maio with a new 7 cm hot‑mix asphalt layer, ending a cycle of works that began in June 2023 with the installation of 688 underground drainage galleries. The project is part of the Asfaltaço program, the city’s largest road‑revitalisation effort, which has invested more than R$ 100 million to refurbish over 100 km of streets.

In Ubatuba, the Secretariat of Infrastructure carried out maintenance on the Estrada do Porto (Caisão) that included cleaning, washing of drainage grates and clearing water outflows. Secretary Carlos Alexandre Medeiros said the work is essential to ensure proper rainwater runoff and reduce blockages that could affect road conditions.

The same week, the municipality also began repair work on a bridge beside the Mercado de Peixe. The bridge was temporarily closed for safety, and material deliveries allowed the work to start on Friday. Secretary of Agriculture and Fisheries Leonardo Santos explained the repairs aim to restore safe access for fishermen, merchants and residents who use the area daily.
