Ubatuba to Host 2nd Stage of Hang Loose Surf Attack in Late July

Registrations are open until 7 July for surfers from outside São Paulo to compete in the second stage of the Hang Loose Surf Attack series, which will take place in Ubatuba from 31 July to 2 August 2026. The event marks the 36th edition of the junior‑level circuit, a staple of Brazilian surf development, and follows the season’s opening stage held in May at Praia do Tombo in Guarujá.

Organisers highlighted the competition’s role in nurturing talent, noting past participants who have become world champions such as Gabriel Medina, Filipe Toledo and Adriano de Souza. "Ubatuba has a historic relationship with surfing and remains a key training hub," said Fabio Lima, the city’s surf coordinator. AUS president Cleiton Félix added that the stage offers young athletes a valuable platform to compete in a city renowned for the sport.
