Habitat Conservation Trust Foundation awards scholarships to B.C. graduate students

Nine graduate students in British Columbia have been awarded scholarships through the Habitat Conservation Trust Foundation (HCTF) to support wildlife and habitat research.

Among the recipients are three students from the University of British Columbia Okanagan (UBCO): Madeline Frazer, Peter Baker, and Kara Atkinson. Each was awarded $10,000 to fund applied research in areas such as wildlife management, habitat stewardship, and policy.

The research projects cover a wide range of topics, including the impact of climate change on species, invasive species management, and the effects of forest harvesting on ungulates. The scholarship program, Together for Wildlife, is in its fourth year and is conducted in partnership with the Province of British Columbia and the First Nations – B.C. Wildlife and Habitat Conservation Forum.
