UBEC unveils digital platform to track school projects and funds

The Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) has introduced a digital platform, the Basic Education Action Plan Management System, designed to enhance transparency and monitoring of school projects and funding. Disclosed by Executive Secretary Dr. Aisha Garba in Abuja, the system will allow parents and local communities to track funds accessed by states and monitor the implementation and quality of educational interventions.

The platform is a key component of UBEC’s 10-year Universal Basic Education Roadmap (2026–2035), which is scheduled for implementation in October. This initiative marks a shift toward a ‘whole school approach,’ requiring states to identify the comprehensive needs of individual schools rather than focusing on isolated projects like classroom construction or furniture supply.

State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) chairmen have already been onboarded, with full deployment of the digital system expected in October.
