Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi visits Verne in Zagreb to support autonomous robotaxi technology
Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi visited Zagreb, Croatia, to meet with the Verne team and tour the Rimac Group campus. As a strategic partner and investor in Verne, Uber is involved in the development of autonomous mobility solutions in the region.
Verne, in partnership with Uber and Pony.ai, has been operating Europe's first commercial robotaxi service in Zagreb since April. The service has already completed over 200,000 autonomous kilometers across several thousand passenger trips.
Verne reported that they are currently conducting test drives on public roads without a safety operator present in the vehicle. This makes Zagreb the first European city to perform such autonomous testing on public streets, conducted in compliance with Croatian regulations and necessary permits.
