Uber driver surrenders after alleged kidnapping attempt in Tucumán
An Uber driver has voluntarily surrendered to the Tucumán Police following an alleged attempted kidnapping involving the daughter of Lucas Haurigot Posse, the province's Secretary of Addictions.
The incident reportedly occurred near the Faculty of Psychology when the young woman requested to exit the vehicle after feeling unwell, but the driver allegedly refused. The victim managed to escape when the car stopped at a red light. Following the incident, Haurigot Posse publicly expressed his support for his daughter, stating, “I believe my daughter,” and noted she remains in shock but is physically safe.
The Tucumán Police Chief, Joaquín Girvau, confirmed the driver's appearance at the Third Precinct. The case has been assigned to the Prosecutor's Office for Complex Crimes, which is currently reviewing security camera footage and digital records from the Uber application to determine the nature of the crime.
