Uber Eats Japan Wins Grand Prix at JR East Transportation Advertising Awards
On July 30, the Transportation Advertising Grand Prix 2026 ceremony was held at the Hotel Metropolitan Ikebukuro in Tokyo. The competition, organized by JR East Planning Co. and sponsored by East Japan Railway Company, honored advertising created for station and vehicle media, street‑level signage, and digital platforms.
Uber Eats Japan secured the top Grand Prix in the vehicle‑media category with its seasonal campaign “Cold Winter? Warm Up with Uber Eats – layered‑clothing edition” and “Hot Summer? Melt with Uber Eats – melting edition.” The ad used transparent film to simulate condensation in winter and a green‑on‑green effect that appeared to melt in summer, linking weather experiences to food‑delivery usage.
The event recognised 38 works out of 1,798 submissions—the highest number of entries to date. Other winners included Daikoku Matsuzakaya Department Store (station‑media), TIGRIS Japan (station‑poster), Otsuka Pharmaceutical (vehicle‑media for POCARI‑SWEAT), Adidas Japan (spatial‑produce signage), and Mitsubishi UFJ Bank (JR East award). Judges highlighted the sophisticated integration of brand identity across multiple media formats.
