Uber expands electric vehicle service to 11 more Brazilian cities

Uber has expanded its ‘Electric’ service, which offers rides exclusively in 100% electric vehicles, to 11 additional Brazilian cities. The expansion includes Belo Horizonte (MG), Campinas (SP), Florianópolis (SC), Fortaleza (CE), Goiânia (GO), Manaus (AM), Porto Alegre (RS), Porto Velho (RO), Recife (PE), Salvador (BA), and São José dos Campos (SP).

With this rollout, 15 Brazilian municipalities now offer the electric option. The service allows passengers to select the specific propulsion type within the app, though hybrid vehicles are excluded from this category.

In a separate development regarding electric mobility infrastructure in Minas Gerais, the company NuCharge plans to install 155 additional charging stations across the state by 2027. This expansion aims to bring the company's total network in the region to over 200 stations, targeting areas such as Triângulo Mineiro, Alto Paranaíba, and Centro-Oeste.
