Uber expands electric vehicle service to 11 more Brazilian cities

Uber has announced the expansion of its Uber Electric service to 11 new cities in Brazil, bringing the total number of municipalities offering the 100% electric vehicle option to 15.

The newly added cities include Belo Horizonte, Campinas, Florianópolis, Fortaleza, Goiânia, Manaus, Porto Alegre, Porto Velho, Recife, Salvador, and São José dos Campos. The service was previously available in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Brasília, and Curitiba.

Passengers can access the service through the Uber app, where the Uber Electric option appears alongside other transport categories. The service is designed to provide zero-exhaust emission trips, supporting the company’s global strategy to electrify urban transport and decarbonize mobility. The expansion also provides more ride opportunities for partner drivers who already operate electric vehicles.
