A passenger reported an alarming experience during a 3:00 AM Uber ride after her driver requested to stop at a parking garage for 15 to 20 minutes to charge his electric vehicle. The woman, who shared the incident via a TikTok video, noted the vehicle had 43% charge and she was approximately 25 minutes from her destination. Her concerns escalated when the driver reportedly missed an exit.

The passenger ended the trip and contacted the police. In response to the report, Uber stated that it has investigated the matter and taken appropriate action, emphasizing that everyone deserves to feel safe while using the platform. The company highlighted available safety features, including GPS tracking, an emergency button, and trip-sharing options.
