Uber launches Eats and expands delivery services in Greece

Uber announced that its Uber Eats food‑delivery platform will start operating in Greece during 2026, with the business‑to‑business Uber Direct service to follow shortly. The company links the rollout to upcoming regulatory reforms for rented vehicles with drivers, which it says will remove the requirement to return cars to a base after each trip and boost operational flexibility. Uber estimates the reforms could add up to €300 million to Greece’s gross domestic product, on top of the roughly €110 million generated this year by its about 7,000 drivers. Uber’s EMEA mobility vice‑president Anabel Diaz highlighted Greece’s importance as a tourism‑driven market and hinted at future investments such as autonomous mobility solutions once a suitable regulatory framework is in place.
