Uber layoffs in Kraków involve training Indian successors

Uber is conducting job cuts at its business services center in Kraków, Poland, which provides operational support and customer service for the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region. More than 150 employees have already lost their jobs as part of a larger global reduction program involving 3,300 positions.

Local employees report that a group of workers from India has arrived in Kraków to take over existing roles. Displaced staff claim they are being tasked with training these Indian employees to implement them into current processes before their own departures. Some workers suggested that the company found it more cost-effective to cover the travel expenses for Indian staff than to maintain the current positions in Poland.
