Uber passenger reports fraudulent charge at Chicago O’Hare

A passenger at Chicago O’Hare International Airport reported an incident where an Uber driver started a ride before the passenger was picked up. The driver claimed the action was accidental, but subsequently ended the ride at a location less than one mile from the designated pickup point, resulting in an $8.00 charge.

Attempts to resolve the issue through Uber’s automated customer service system were unsuccessful. To prevent similar occurrences, the passenger recommended enabling PIN verification, a security feature that requires drivers to input a unique four-digit code to begin a trip.
