Uber COO Andrew Macdonald purchases $5.3 million in company stock

Uber Chief Operating Officer Andrew Macdonald has purchased approximately $5.3 million worth of company stock on the open market. The transaction, consisting of 70,000 shares bought in two separate trades, marks Macdonald’s first open-market purchase since assuming his role in June 2025.

This investment follows Uber’s announcement of a major restructuring plan to reduce its global workforce by approximately 10%. CEO Dara Khosrowshahi stated the layoffs aim to streamline middle management and reallocate resources toward strategic growth, including a planned $10 billion investment in autonomous taxi services over the coming years.

Financial analysts at Wedbush have maintained an “Outperform” rating for Uber, setting a price target of $91.00. The company recently reported second-quarter revenue of $14.19 billion, a 12.2% increase year-over-year, with earnings per share slightly exceeding market consensus.
