Uberlândia wins 2026 Série D title after draw with ASA

Uberlândia Esporte Clube has won the 2026 Brasileirão Série D title following a 1-1 draw against ASA-AL at the Parque do Sabiá stadium. Having secured a 2-0 victory in the first leg in Arapiraca, the Minas Gerais-based team confirmed their championship with a 3-1 aggregate score.

In the decisive match, ASA took an early lead in the 22nd minute through a header by Michel Douglas. Uberlândia responded before halftime when Calazans equalized following a corner kick. Despite pressure from the Alagoas side in the second half, Uberlândia maintained the draw to secure their second national title, their first since winning the Taça CBF in 1984.

The victory also guarantees Uberlândia direct access to the third phase of the 2027 Copa do Brasil. For ASA, the runner-up finish is highlighted by their successful promotion to Série C for the 2027 season, marking their return to the third division for the first time since 2017.
