Ubiquiti Inc. shares drop over 10% to new 52-week low
Ubiquiti Inc. (NYSE: UI) shares experienced a significant decline, dropping over 10% to close at $520.58 during recent trading. The stock reached a new 52-week low during mid-day trading, hitting a low of $500.23.
While no specific new adverse news was officially announced on the day of the drop, market analysts have pointed to several contributing factors. These include profit-taking, valuation concerns, and potential margin pressure caused by rising component and shipping costs. Although Ubiquiti recently reported record quarterly revenue of $937.32 million, its gross profit margin fell to 45.8% from the previous quarter due to these increased costs.
Analyst sentiment has been mixed. Barclays recently maintained an ‘Underweight’ rating and lowered its price target from $672 to $489. Conversely, BWS Financial reissued a ‘Buy’ rating with a target of $980. Other firms, including Zacks Research and Weiss Ratings, have recently downgraded the stock to ‘Hold’ ratings. Despite the price volatility, Dell’Oro Group data indicates that Ubiquiti has successfully increased its market share in the campus switch market.
