Assassin’s Creed Destiny leaked after reported cancellation
Leaked gameplay footage and screenshots have surfaced online for Assassin’s Creed Destiny, a previously unannounced title that was reportedly cancelled. Developed as a collaboration between Ubisoft and Tencent’s TiMi Studio Group, the project was intended for PC and modern consoles rather than mobile platforms.
The game was set in ancient China during 206 BCE, during the transition from the Qin to the Han dynasty. Leaked materials, discovered in developer portfolios, show a prototype from February 2025 featuring a female protagonist infiltrating a sacred palace during a siege led by the historical warlord Xiang Yu. Gameplay elements include traditional series mechanics like parkour and the Leap of Faith, alongside unique features such as a rotating umbrella weapon and a user interface inspired by Chinese ink-wash painting and yin-yang symbols.
Reports suggest the project was shelved following internal restructuring at TiMi Studio Group and a strategic shift at Tencent to prioritize internal productions over Western collaborations. While Destiny has been cancelled, the mobile title Assassin’s Creed Jade, also set in ancient China, remains in development.
