Ubisoft Announces Faithful Remake of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag for July 2026

Ubisoft has officially announced the remake "Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced," describing it as a "letter of love" to fans. The game will launch on 9 July 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.

The project, led by design director Julian Koch and creative director Paul Fu, is a true remake rather than a remaster. The studio rebuilt the game from the ground up, keeping the original action‑adventure structure and rejecting additions such as dialogue choices or RPG elements. Koch explained, “We had to rebuild everything from scratch,” while Fu noted, “Should there be dialogue choices? The obvious answer was no.”

Technical upgrades include a modern engine, higher‑resolution graphics, enhanced lighting, updated water and sky effects, and refined parkour, combat and collision systems, all aimed at preserving the original experience while meeting contemporary standards.
