Ubisoft announces Rainbow Six Tactics turn-based game

Ubisoft has announced Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Tactics, a new single-player, turn-based tactical game set within the Rainbow Six universe. Revealed during Gamescom’s Opening Night Live, the title is being developed by Ubisoft Paris.

In this entry, players assume the role of Six, the commander of the Rainbow unit. The gameplay loop involves strategic preparation at headquarters—where players assess intelligence, upgrade their base, and assign operators—followed by tactical execution in the field. Missions include objectives such as hostage rescue, bomb disposal, and target elimination across various global locations.

The game features a roster of 15 operators from Rainbow Six Siege, allowing players to build squads of up to four members with distinct abilities, gadgets, and skill trees. The title is described as having gameplay elements reminiscent of the XCOM series, focusing on coordinated breaches, reconnaissance, and the use of destructible environments to outmaneuver enemies.
