Ubisoft Assassin’s Creed remake: Why Altaïr is a better candidate than Ezio
Following the commercial success of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, discussions have emerged regarding which classic titles in the franchise deserve a remake. While many fans advocate for a reimagining of the Ezio Auditore trilogy, arguments are being made that the original 2007 Assassin’s Creed featuring Altaïr Ibn-La’Ahad is a more critical candidate for a modern overhaul.
The original game is noted for having a repetitive mission structure, often relying heavily on eavesdropping and tailing targets, which can feel tedious by modern standards. Proponents of a remake suggest that updating the combat from its original counter-based system to a more fluid, modern style would significantly improve the experience.
Additionally, a remake could address the technical limitations of the original setting by rebuilding the Holy Land with more dynamic crowds and expanded environments. There is also potential to enhance the narrative by providing more cinematic depth to the modern-day story segments that were central to the initial release.
