Ubisoft celebrates 25 years of Ghost Recon with major updates

Ubisoft is celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon franchise with several major updates and promotional events. A significant free update for Ghost Recon Wildlands, titled ‘Last Rites’, has been released. This update introduces a standalone mission set in Bolivia involving a cult known as Los Penitentes and its leader, La Llorona.

Technical enhancements for Wildlands include support for 4K resolution and 60 FPS on current-generation consoles and PC, alongside improved lighting, shadows, and rendering. Players can also utilize new customization options to adjust difficulty, UI, and environmental parameters. Additionally, the ‘Predator’ event, which was previously removed due to licensing, has returned to the game.

To mark the milestone, Ubisoft is offering limited-time free access to Ghost Recon Wildlands and Ghost Recon Breakpoint from August 6 to 10. Furthermore, Ghost Recon: Future Soldier will be available for free on PC via Ubisoft Connect until August 13. Breakpoint players will also receive a 25th-anniversary commemorative pack containing various in-game items.
