Ubisoft to close RedLynx studio and cut 70 jobs in Singapore
Ubisoft has announced plans to close its Finnish studio, RedLynx, and implement significant layoffs at Ubisoft Singapore as part of an ongoing corporate restructuring aimed at reducing costs.
The proposed closure of RedLynx, the developer behind the Trials franchise, would affect up to 52 employees. The decision follows an assessment that the studio, which currently has no active standalone projects, is not sustainable in its current form. In Finland, the closure is subject to mandatory local change negotiation processes with employees.
Simultaneously, Ubisoft Singapore will undergo a reduction of approximately 70 staff members, representing about one-fifth of its total workforce. This move is intended to align the studio with future production requirements. Ubisoft Singapore is notably the lead developer for Skull and Bones and has contributed to the Assassin’s Creed series.
These measures are part of a broader transition toward a new organizational model involving “Creative Houses.” The company stated it is committed to supporting affected teams with “care and respect” during this transition.
