Ubisoft confirms Beyond Good and Evil 2 remains in development

Ubisoft continues to maintain that the video game Beyond Good and Evil 2 is still in development, despite the project being announced nearly two decades ago. The game has faced significant hurdles, including changes in creative leadership following the departure of creator Michel Ancel and shifts in the company's technical vision.

Recent updates indicate that Rik Godwin, an associate narrative director and writer at Ubisoft Bordeaux, has been working on the project in an assistant or consulting capacity for several months. However, no official trailers or concrete release information have been provided since the last major trailer in 2017.

The project's long development cycle is attributed to its massive scope, which aims to build a complex solar system featuring multiple planets, cities, and spacecraft. This ambitious design has required the development of new underlying technologies and systems, contributing to the extended production timeline.
