Ubisoft cuts 380 jobs, closes Winnipeg and Belgrade studios
French video‑game publisher Ubisoft announced a new restructuring plan that will affect roughly 380 employees. The company will shut its Winnipeg studio in Canada and its Belgrade studio in Serbia, eliminating about 65 and 100 jobs respectively. Additional reductions are planned for its Barcelona studio in Spain and its publishing team in San Francisco, USA, as Ubisoft refocuses resources on core franchises such as the Rainbow Six series.
The move follows a broader effort to simplify operations after cutting around 1,000 staff over the past year and dealing with several under‑performing game releases. Ubisoft says the restructuring is aimed at lowering operating costs and concentrating development on projects it views as having the greatest growth potential.
