Ubisoft launches Assassin's Creed Black Flag Remake ‘Resynced’
Ubisoft has released a remastered edition of the 2013 title Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, now called Black Flag Resynced. Developed by Ubisoft Singapore, the game runs on an updated Anvil engine and retains the original storyline centered on pirate Edward Kenway while refining core mechanics.
The remake streamlines mission structures, clarifies objectives, and introduces a First Mate system that lets players recruit crew members with unique abilities. New side missions and dialogue add context, but the modern Abstergo DLC ‘Freedom Cry’ and the contemporary storyline are omitted. Voice work largely returns to the original cast, with a few replacements due to the passing of previous actors. Reviews note smoother combat, improved facial animation, and a more cohesive narrative flow.
Both Dutch and German reviews highlight that while the core pirate adventure remains familiar, the enhancements offer a fresher experience for longtime fans and newcomers alike.
