Ubisoft offers $500k treasure hunt for Assassin's Creed Black Flag remake

Ubisoft has announced a real‑world $500,000 treasure hunt tied to the launch of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, a remake scheduled for July 9 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. Participants must spend at least $40, typically by purchasing the $39.99 “Deckhand” package, to receive digital clues. The prize – a handcrafted chest hidden somewhere in the Caribbean – contains gold coins valued at $350,000 and a crystal skull with a red opal worth $150,000. Solvers must answer 15 riddles; the hunt could last up to five years, with only one winner claiming the loot.

In parallel, Ubisoft disclosed that its next major titles, Assassin’s Creed Hexe and Far Cry 7, are slated for a 2027 release window. Leaks suggest Hexe will return to classic parkour mechanics, while Far Cry 7 may be officially unveiled later this year. These announcements come as the publisher seeks to rebound from recent cancellations, layoffs and underperforming releases.
