Ubisoft releases major Anniversary Update for The Rogue Prince of Persia

Ubisoft and Evil Empire have released a major Anniversary Update for the roguelite title The Rogue Prince of Persia to mark its one-year milestone. The update introduces significant new content, mechanics, and gameplay modes across all platforms.

Key additions include Combat Zones, which feature new arenas with increasing waves of enemies, and a new elemental Freeze mechanic that allows players to slow or completely freeze opponents for tactical advantages. The update also introduces specialized modes: Speedrun, a time-trial challenge with integrated timers, and Parkour mode, which emphasizes wall-running and agility.

To enhance progression and replayability, the developers added the Daily Awakening system, featuring rotating daily runs with variable modifiers, and the Nyamtur Trials, a high-risk, high-reward mode offering legendary loot. Other improvements include a complete overhaul of the final Palace biome, new weapons and equipment, a statistics screen to track performance, and various balance adjustments to difficulty and pacing to ensure a smoother player experience.
