Ubisoft reports 9% Q1 net bookings plunge and pushes major releases to 2028‑29

Ubisoft posted first‑quarter net bookings of €255.8 million, a decline of more than nine percent year‑on‑year, though the figure was slightly above internal guidance. The weaker performance was linked to the absence of a large‑scale launch such as last year’s Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

Mobile revenue gained a notable boost, rising from 10 % to 19 % of net bookings, driven by a record quarter for the game Invincible: Guarding the Globe. At the same time, console share fell from 50 % to 46 %, PC rose marginally from 26 % to 27 %, and the “other” category dropped from 14 % to 8 %.

The publisher also announced that several flagship projects have been postponed to fiscal years 2028‑29, citing quality standards and a competitive market. Ubisoft is continuing a restructuring program that includes studio closures and new leadership in its Creative House division. Investor reaction was negative, with the share price falling about seven percent after the release.
