Ubisoft reports record €1.3 billion loss for FY2025‑26 and unveils three‑year franchise revival plan
Ubisoft announced that its fiscal year running from April 2025 to March 2026 recorded a loss of more than €1.3 billion, the largest in the company’s history. Revenue fell 21.8%, the firm laid off about 1,200 staff and released only a handful of titles, with several projects cancelled, including a near‑complete Prince of Persia remake.
To reverse the downturn, Ubisoft’s leadership outlined a three‑year strategy focused on its three biggest franchises – Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry and Ghost Recon. The plan calls for new major releases in each series by 2029, with Assassin’s Creed already confirmed for a new main‑line entry. The company expects cost‑saving measures from its recent restructuring to start improving financial performance over the next few years.
