Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed Black Flag Remake 'Resynced' Detailed Ahead of July Launch
Ubisoft Singapore is leading the development of Assassin's Creed Black Flag Remake, titled "Resynced," with lead producer Justin Ng describing the project as both an honour and a stressful undertaking. The team, many of whom worked on the 2013 original that attracted over 34 million players, aims to stay faithful to the source while updating graphics, water simulation and naval combat.
The remake will launch on July 9 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. A notable change is the removal of the original game’s modern‑day sections featuring the Abstergo corporation; design director Julien Koch explained that the new narrative focuses solely on Edward Kenway’s story, adding roughly six hours of new content while discarding the Animus‑based storyline that linked the title to later entries in the franchise.
