Ľuboš Blaha wins legal dispute against Juraj Rizman

European Parliament Member Ľuboš Blaha has won a legal dispute against Juraj Rizman, a former partner of former President Zuzana Čaputová. The case, which proceeded through both first-instance and appellate courts, originated from a video Blaha posted in January.

In the video, Blaha commented on a government audit regarding the non-governmental organization Post Bellum. The audit had identified six deficiencies and recommended the return of €38,280 in public funds due to alleged breaches of financial discipline. Blaha used sharp language to criticize the NGO's activities and its connection to aid for Ukraine.

Blaha highlighted the court's decision regarding freedom of expression, noting that the ruling reminded Rizman that "freedom of speech is a pillar of a democratic society." Blaha contrasted this outcome with a previous legal battle involving former President Čaputová, where a different judge had restricted his speech.
