UBP officials defend government performance ahead of elections

Members of the National Unity Party (UBP) have expressed confidence in the party's performance and prospects leading up to the December 6 elections. Former Economy Minister Olgun Amcaoğlu addressed recent controversies involving individual scandals and allegations of fake diplomas, arguing that voters should distinguish between individual errors and the party as a whole. He urged supporters to ‘seal’ the party with their votes while using their choices to penalize specific individuals who have acted incorrectly.

Amcaoğlu also defended the government's five-year record, highlighting infrastructure investments such as the Northern Ring Road and hospitals in Kyrenia and Güzelyurt. He countered criticisms regarding population data accuracy by noting that the state maintains comprehensive records through e-government and identity systems.

Health Minister Dr. Hakan Dinçyürek asserted that the UBP will emerge as the absolute leading party in the upcoming elections. He claimed that current polling underrepresents the party's actual support and emphasized that the government's concrete projects, including investments in natural gas, eco-friendly energy, and fiber optic infrastructure, will drive voter decisions.
