UBS reports record 1 million new millionaires globally in 2025

UBS’s 2025 Global Wealth Report says almost one million people worldwide now have net assets exceeding US$1 million, an average of about 2,600 new millionaires per day. Roughly half of the new millionaires are in the United States, which added more than 440,000, followed by mainland China, Japan, Germany, the United Kingdom and France.

Overall individual wealth rose 10.8% in 2025, the fastest growth since 2017, driven by strong financial‑market performance and rising non‑financial assets. The report notes that wealth gains were uneven across regions and wealth brackets, with the most pronounced growth among those with assets above US$5 million.

Switzerland retained the highest average net wealth per adult at about US$910,000, ahead of the United States (US$696,000) and Luxembourg (US$655,000). The findings underline a continued concentration of wealth in advanced economies while highlighting the expanding pool of high‑net‑worth individuals worldwide.
