UBS to liquidate European property fund
UBS has announced the liquidation of its real estate fund, ‘UBS (CH) Property Fund - Europe’. Trading of the fund on the SIX Swiss Exchange will cease immediately, with delisting scheduled for Friday, October 23.
The fund, which invests in residential, logistics, office, and retail properties across Europe, has faced increased redemption requests over the last two years. Due to low demand and limited liquidity in these markets, assets can currently only be sold selectively and often at significant discounts. UBS Fund Management decided to terminate the fund contract to protect investor interests.
Repayments will be processed in three priority categories based on redemption dates:
Category 1: Priority repayment for 6.2 million shares redeemed as of June 30, 2024.
Category 2: Approximately 178,000 shares redeemed as of the fiscal year ending June 30, 2025. These investors will be paid once all Category 1 claims are satisfied.
Category 3: Shares redeemed by the end of the fiscal year on June 30, 2026, and remaining investors.
