UBU San Pablo Burgos defeats Balonmano Guadalajara in preseason friendly

UBU San Pablo Burgos secured a 33-29 victory against Balonmano Guadalajara in their first preseason friendly held at El Plantío. Despite trailing by six goals at halftime (13-17), the Burgos side staged a significant second-half comeback.

A turning point occurred in the 41st minute when goalkeeper Daniel Santamaría scored from his own half into an empty net, leveling the score at 22-22. Following this, Burgos took control with goals from Rodrigo Pérez, Claudio Ramos, Miguel Malo, and Joao Furtado to secure the win.

Guadalajara coach Juan Carlos Requena noted that the match felt like two different games. He praised the team's defensive intensity and counter-attacking transitions in the first half but cited a loss of concentration in the second half. The match also saw an injury to Nikola Malivojevic following a collision, though the coaching staff hopes the impact is not severe. Guadalajara will look to improve in their next friendly against Anaitasuna.
