Çubuk women receive vinegar production and branding training
A week-long training program was held in the Çubuk district of Ankara to help women transform agricultural products into value-added goods. The initiative was a collaboration between the Ankara Development Agency and the Çubuk Birlik Women Entrepreneurs Agricultural Development Cooperative.
The curriculum covered natural vinegar production, product development, packaging, branding, and marketing. Instructors demonstrated how to process local fruits, such as hawthorn, into vinegar through two-stage fermentation. In addition to production techniques, the program included sessions on brand creation and meeting customer expectations to help participants move from production to sales.
Participants noted that the training corrected common misconceptions regarding the fermentation process, such as the necessity of a 'vinegar mother' for a product to be considered usable.
