UC Christus clinic remains closed following Las Condes mudslide

The UC Christus clinic's San Carlos de Apoquindo headquarters remains closed following a mudslide on October 8. General Manager Cristóbal Pertuzé reported that the incident caused water, mud, and debris to flood the facility's lower basement levels.

Following the evacuation of ambulatory areas and the transfer of hospitalized patients to other providers, the institution has begun a rehabilitation plan. However, no specific date has been set for the resumption of in-person medical services. Patients are being redirected to other centers within the UC Christus network or offered telemedical consultations.

Additionally, the DUOC UC San Carlos de Apoquindo campus remains closed for in-person activities until at least October 23, with academic operations moving to a remote format.
